Hair, Makeup and Styling Blog

As our celebrity Makeup and Hair artist, Lisa Armstrong, comes to the finale of another amazing season as Head of Makeup on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, we pick out the winners in the beauty world...

According to William Hill, Joe McFadden is favourite to win the Strictly Come Dancing Glitterball trophy on Saturday. At 4/6 he's just ahead in the odds of Debbie McGee at 9/4, with Alexandra Burke at 6/1 and Gemma Atkinson a relative outsider at 10/1.

But we're just going to place some bets of our own when it comes to the Strictly competitors' futures in the beauty world:

Debbie McGee

We'd put our frilly salsa shirt on Debbie becoming the new face of a cosmetic house who wants to bottle that inspirational glow representing women over a certain age. And it'd be magic if the widow of Paul Daniels and his former assistant would also bring out her own vanishing cream.

Alexandra Burke

She encapsulates contemporary British beauty and talent. Could Alexandra Burke be on the cover of Vogue UK sometime soon, ticking the diversification box? Strictly down to you Edward Enninful.

Gemma Atkinson

She has the most amazing Barbie doll hair that gets blonder, wavier, longer depending on the dance - also, curlers and extensions. We're betting l'Oreal's on the phone to Gemma's agent right now because 'she's worth it'.

Molly King

Currently snowed under by toothpaste brands fighting for her and AJ to be the zinging smiling faces of their whitening products. Can we take our sunglasses off now?

Head Judge Shirley Ballas

Such a polished performance especially those nails! Obviously it wasn't too nail-bitingly stressful for Shirley as the new head judge of  Strictly. Cue cuticle oil sponsorship.
